{"id":25447,"date":"2026-10-31T09:25:58","date_gmt":"2026-10-31T07:25:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zawia3.com\/?p=25447"},"modified":"2026-10-31T09:25:58","modified_gmt":"2026-10-31T07:25:58","slug":"ringroad-aid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zawia3.com\/en\/ringroad-aid\/","title":{"rendered":"Government to reconsider aid for residents of buildings removed to widen the Ring Road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Cabinet, at its meeting chaired by Mostafa Madbouly on Wednesday 28 October 2026, approved a request from the governorates of Cairo, Giza and Qalyubia for the Egyptian General Authority for Survey to reconsider the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elwatannews.com\/news\/details\/8385997\">value<\/a> of the social aid owed to residents and occupants of buildings that conflict with completing the development works on the Ring Road around Greater Cairo.<\/p>\n<p>The government linked the review to current economic conditions and to the social and economic circumstances of the families living in these buildings. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dostor.org\/5755565\">decision<\/a> did not specify the new value of the aid or the rate of increase, the number of families who will benefit, or a date for completing the review.<\/p>\n<p>In September, the General Authority for Roads and Bridges announced that owners of licensed buildings removed for the expansion receive social compensation, compensation for the building and compensation for the land, and that residents of unlicensed buildings on state land receive social compensation of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elwatannews.com\/news\/details\/8359493\">40,000 pounds<\/a> (about $710) per room, with the living room counted as a room and the kitchen and bathroom together counted as one room.
