Egypt and the United States signed on Wednesday 4 November 2026 their first bilateral “Strategic Objectives<\/a> Agreement” at the Foreign Ministry headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, in the presence of Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, Supply Minister Sherif Farouk and Higher Education Minister Abdelaziz Konsowa. The agreement was signed<\/a> for Egypt by Deputy Foreign Minister for International Cooperation Samar Al-Ahdal, and for the US by Charg\u00e9 d’Affaires Robert Silverman.<\/p>\n

Silverman said<\/a> the United States is allocating $125 million to expand opportunities for American companies in Egypt and support private-sector growth in both countries. The agreement covers agricultural development, food security, basic and higher education, health, superintelligence, water security and workforce development. According to the US side, it provides for strengthening Egypt’s reliance on its own capabilities and resources and ensuring that US aid programs achieve maximum impact, efficiency and accountability.<\/p>\n

Samar Al-Ahdal said she was confident bilateral relations would keep developing under the agreement. The two sides did not announce the agreement’s duration or how the funding will be distributed across sectors, nor did they clarify whether the amount is a grant or tied to investment conditions.<\/p>\n
