{"id":26220,"date":"2026-11-05T19:08:23","date_gmt":"2026-11-05T17:08:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zawia3.com\/?p=26220"},"modified":"2026-11-05T19:08:23","modified_gmt":"2026-11-05T17:08:23","slug":"water-expropriation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zawia3.com\/en\/water-expropriation\/","title":{"rendered":"Government takes land by direct execution for a Mostaqbal Misr water conveyance route in the Delta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Official Gazette published, in its issue No. 45 of Thursday, November 5, 2026, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cairomubasher.com\/249737\">decree<\/a> No. 3126 of 2026 declaring the project to build a water conveyance route from the eastern source of the Mostaqbal Misr project, with a capacity of 10 million cubic meters per day in the Delta region, a public benefit work, with the seizure by direct execution of the land and property needed to implement it.<\/p>\n<p>The published text of the decree did not specify the area of land to be seized, its locations or the number of its owners, and referred to the areas and boundaries set out in the explanatory memorandum and the attached maps and lists.<\/p>\n<p>The same issue published three other decrees expropriating property for public benefit: Decree No. 3200 expropriating a plot of about 8,475 square meters next to Boulaq Abu El Ela Hospital in Cairo to develop and expand it, Decree No. 3129 expropriating a plot of 15 qirats and 8 sahms in the village of Barshoum El Soghra in Toukh, Qalyubia, to build a youth center, and Decree No. 3123 amending the area of the property occupied by the Sami Fathi Preparatory School for Boys in Belbeis, Sharqia, to 2,074.07 square meters after setback.<\/p>\n<p>The Mostaqbal Misr Agency for Sustainable Development runs a number of land reclamation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.egypttelegraph.com\/article\/122381\/\">projects<\/a>, most notably the New Delta project west of the Delta, whose irrigation relies on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.banker.news\/137165\">treated<\/a> agricultural drainage water.<\/p>\n<p class=\"z3b-credit\"><small>Photo: NASA Earth Observatory images by Lauren Dauphin, using Landsat data from the U.S. Geological Survey.
