Collecting personal IDs at Osama Tex Factory under security sponsorship

“Zawia3” has learned from a source inside Osama Tex factory in the first industrial zone in 15th of May City in Cairo that the factory witnessed the presence of several security personnel affiliated with the 15th of May police department in southern Cairo on Sunday, September 30. They were accompanied by some individuals overseeing the campaign to collect identity cards to issue powers of attorney in support of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in the Real Estate Authority’s headquarters.

According to a source working at Osama Tex clothing factory, a week ago, the factory manager instructed us to hand over our identity cards for work-related purposes. Shortly after, another official addressed us, stating that those cards would be handed over to specific entities for use in issuing powers of attorney for Sisi’s support. We all refused and insisted on retrieving our cards. However, today we were surprised by a delegation attempting to force us to surrender the cards and forcibly issue powers of attorney, and we are calling for help.

Police aiding the needy

The “We Are All One” initiative, under the sponsorship of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, continued its activities as the Egyptian Ministry of Interior distributed food items and school supplies to citizens in the most needy areas in conjunction with the new school year. The initiative and distribution were participated by security sectors and directorates in the governorates of Alexandria, Sharkia, Menoufia, Gharbia, Red Sea, Aswan, South Sinai, Luxor, and Minya.

Sisi’s competitors accuse “National Authority” of obstacles

The election campaigns for potential presidential candidates Gameela Ismail, Ahmed Tantawi, and Farid Zahran accused the supervisory authority of the elections of tightening the screws and placing obstacles in the way of anyone seeking to compete against the current President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. The three campaigns documented closures of the Real Estate Authority offices against citizens willing to support them.

“National Authority” responds and warns

The three statements from the campaigns of the potential presidential candidates angered the National Authority for Elections, and the authority stated that it deeply regrets the unacceptable skepticism and unwarranted insults on its work by some. The authority clarified that it has not committed any violations and affirmed that the real estate offices are operating effectively. The National Authority for Elections rejected being addressed in a derogatory manner in statements or phrases implying doubts about its work. It welcomed the submission of supported facts with substantial evidence suggesting errors or violations, enabling verification of their credibility to take immediate action against those at fault.

Gameela Ismail responds to the authority

Potential presidential candidate Gameela Ismail responded to the authority’s statement, confirming that potential candidates face obstacles during the collection of mandates outside committees and threats and intimidation within them for those choosing to issue mandates for someone other than President Sisi.

Ismail stated in a statement that the National Authority considering our statements as mere allegations and describing them as false is a position we reserve, and it raises suspicion about their stance. We find no justification for it and describe it, at the very least, as hasty.

She pointed out that ignoring the facts is not in the interest of any party, and efforts should prioritize correcting the course, stopping violations, and rectifying deviations instead of hastily denying observations and complaints from candidates.

Ismail called on the Election Authority to continue investigating complaints and observations, but with greater seriousness, and to work on facilitating procedures and ensuring the right of any citizen to issue a mandate for their chosen candidate without obstacles, procrastination, threats, or harassment by any individual or entity inside or outside the Real Estate Authority offices.

Finally:

– Potential presidential candidate Farid Zahran received 20 endorsements from parliament members to participate in the upcoming presidential elections.
