The Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights (EIPR) recorded death sentences against 13 defendants in 8 cases during October 2026, and the execution of two people in one case, in its monthly bulletin on death sentences in Egypt, published on Tuesday 3 November 2026.
According to the infographic attached to the bulletin, the total covers rulings by criminal courts and cassation rulings in the ordinary and military judiciary. The bulletin did not include a breakdown of the sentences by court or governorate, nor the names of those executed or the case in which the ruling was issued.
EIPR said in the bulletin that the figures represent “cases, people, and lives that deserve attention and scrutiny.”
The Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights issues this bulletin every month to track death sentences issued in Egypt and those carried out, and it published the September bulletin on 20 October.
