The Grand Egyptian Museum began, on Sunday, November 1, 2026, applying new entry ticket prices approved by the board of the museum’s authority, under which the price of the Egyptian visitor’s ticket rose from 200 pounds (about $3.56) to 220 pounds (about $3.92), and the ticket for Egyptian students, seniors and Egyptian children from 100 pounds (about $1.78) to 110 pounds (about $1.96), an increase of 10%.

The increase also included ticket prices for Arab and foreign visitors, and coincided with the museum’s celebration of one year since its official opening on November 1, 2025, with a program of shows and concerts. The increase had been announced in mid-October.

The museum is located near the Giza Pyramids, and houses the complete collection of King Tutankhamun’s treasures.
