Menoufia Governor Maj. Gen. Amr El-Gharib on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, referred a school headteacher and a teacher to investigation, after a video spread on social media showing pupils carrying food boxes from a vehicle in front of the school into its “productive unit”.

El-Gharib said in remarks that he ordered an urgent investigation into the incident, that the headteacher and the teacher who filmed the pupils were referred to investigation, and that the whole file was referred to legal affairs. The governorate did not announce the name of the school or the village where it is located.

On the same day, El-Gharib referred the director of Menouf General Hospital, its administrative director and 16 staff to the governorate’s General Administration for Legal Affairs, based on a report by the internal audit and governance department that found administrative violations, unauthorised absences and poor performance, after a surprise visit to the hospital on Tuesday, 3 November.
