The Council of the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate called on Arab regimes, foremost among them the Egyptian authorities, to move quickly to stop the genocide against the people of Gaza, which has not stopped for 25 days. This came in response to the repeated massacres committed by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people in Gaza, the latest of which was the Jabalia camp massacre, in which more than 400 people were killed and wounded today, in addition to hundreds missing under the rubble.
In a statement, the Council of the Journalists Syndicate saluted the steadfastness of the heroic Palestinian people and their valiant resistance, affirming that it condemns in the strongest terms the US-Western collusion with the Zionist enemy, which has reached the point of participating in the killing of the children and women of Gaza. The council demands that the ruling Arab regimes take a number of urgent and effective measures that would put pressure on the occupation state and its allies until the terrifying killing machine stops, a machine that has resulted in more than 30,000 killed, wounded and missing, most of them women and children.
Among the measures the council demanded be taken urgently:
- The Egyptian government opening the Rafah crossing from the Egyptian side, allowing humanitarian aid of all kinds to enter, allowing those with serious injuries to cross for treatment in Egyptian hospitals, and allowing Egyptian volunteer doctors to cross to Gaza’s hospitals. “We are ready, along with many representatives of Egyptian, Arab and international civil society organisations and bodies, to accompany those trucks until they are handed over to the Palestine Red Crescent and the relevant international bodies in Gaza.”
- Cutting relations with the Zionist enemy, with Arab countries that have agreements and diplomatic relations with the Zionist entity immediately withdrawing their ambassadors and expelling the occupation state’s ambassadors as persons not welcome in our countries.
- Reviewing all agreements with the Zionist entity and beginning to put the agreements and treaties signed between it and Arab countries to popular referendums.
- Opening streets, squares, mosques and churches to the Arab masses to express their anger, and declaring public mourning until the aggression stops.
- Calling for an Arab summit within two days at most to consult on taking more decisive measures in the face of the massacres taking place, including downgrading diplomatic missions with countries supporting the aggression and cutting oil and gas production.
- Going to the International Court of Justice to take the necessary measures to pursue the occupation state’s prime minister and officials of the Zionist army as war criminals and to try them for the horrific massacres in the Gaza Strip and the rest of the Palestinian territories.
In conclusion, the failure of Arab governments and regimes to act urgently at this critical moment would amount to encouraging the occupation to implement its plan to exterminate the Palestinian people in Gaza and displace those who remain to Egypt, a scenario that may be repeated in the West Bank if it succeeds in the Strip, at which point the door would be opened for the Zionist entity to implement its project of controlling the region.
